Healthcare Waste Management is systematic handling, treatment, and disposal of healthcare by product. The research aimed to determine waste categories hazardous and non-hazardous, level of implementation in terms of segregation, pretreatment, collection, transportation and storage and to propose a plan of action to enhance implementation of healthcare waste management program. The study employed a quantitative -descriptive designed survey questionnaires adopted from Department of Health Manual and Profiling assessment tool. Total enumeration as sampling methods used with 82 respondents. Data gathered and interpreted through central tendency, measures of variability, frequency, percentage, and mean rating and using 5 points Likert scale. Results revealed that hazardous waste, infectious and sharps are 100 percent determined followed by pathological and pharmaceutical waste. The research concluded that respondents are well oriented of hospital hazardous and nonhazardous waste. Level of implementation in terms of segregation is implemented, pretreatment is implemented, collection is implemented, transportation is implemented and storage is implemented. To enhance level of implementation of healthcare waste management in Manito Municipal Hospital the researcher proposes the following: Regular meeting and continues education. Re orientation seminar for all staff with key speaker. Integration of Healthcare waste management program every general monthly meeting. Formal letter to supply officer and budget officer for supplies availability. Recommendations include waste awareness of all employees for waste categories, regular meeting, continue education and integration. Areas for further research are status of healthcare waste management in Albay and incinerator usage as method of final disposal.
